DOUBLE EXPOSURE.
These two pictures where pictures I saw on the internet.
At first I chose to do a happy double exposure pictures with flowers and a happy wedding but it did not work out because the picture of the happy wedding bride was black and white though it was a nice one and when I combined it with the colourful picture that had flowers on it, the picture with flowers on it will turn black and white and it did not look nice so I had to change it.
I then thought of another emotion to express in my double exposure picture, then I came up with the idea of depression and sadness because that was the easiest to think of and not because I like it. Besides, no one likes the kind of atmosphere of depression and sadness.
When I looked up the internet, I looked up for a depressed person. From the millions of pictures I saw, I preferred the one of this lady I chose. For the drought, I checked for it and liked this one I saw. I combined the picture of drought and the picture of the sad lady because mixing landscape pictures with portrait to me makes sense and that is what the project mostly is all about.
So at the end of the day, after combining the two pictures I found, it resulted into this amazing stunning picture. I the adobe photoshop application on the system and applied some technical effects to it.

BLACK SLAVERY
First of all, I will like to start by defining the meaning of the word, “Black”. Black is a colour that is of maximum darkness, having little or no hue owing to absorption of almost all incident light. It is a neutral colour.
Here, the black we mean is not of ordinary colour but of racial meaning. It means of or belonging to a racial group having dark skin especially people of Africa and of African origin.
Slavery means the state of being under the control of another person. another word for it is, “bondage, thrall, thraldom, etc”.
Therefore, the meaning of the phrase, “Black Slavery”, means the bondage thats was being used on the blacks. It means the control of the white race over the dark skinned race, people mainly from Africa.
What inspired me to write about black slavery is first of all due to the fact that I am a black person. I am proud to be a dark skinned person. I am proud to be an African. I feel it to be an advantage to be a black person. The second reason why I chose to write about black slavery is that I love studying and learning about History, so out of all the history, I chose to talk about this.
My primary research is this. I came across two people and I had a talk with them about this topic. These are what the people had to say:
Friend 1: “Slavery started between the eighteenth and nineteenth century or 1619 and they brought up to six to seven million black slaves with them. They worked mostly in custom plantations. Slave marriage was allowed but it was not carried out legally. They would just inform their masters would maybe accept it. Slaves rebellion occurred within the system”.
Friend 2: “Slavery was something that happened a long time ago and was abolished, but in some places today, it is still being practiced and this is illegal. Slaves where mostly used to work in the farm for whites and beaten ruthlessly if discovered trying to escape work or from their masters. This happened for years and then was later abolished and blacks were given their rights. People like Martin Luther King Jnr, Nathanial Turner, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, etc were strong people that helped to end this slavery. When the slaves were freed, due to being transported to far countries to work ended up getting married to whites and today we have mixed race people all over”.
My Secondary research is that I have read different books on slavery in the past and its history. I have also watched movies on it though I cannot recall the name of the movie. The name of the book I read on it was titled, “History of Slavery”. The book detailed most things and was engrossing. It was sad to see the way black people were treated and oppressed. They were transported from one place to another, most times the ventilation was not good and no place to remove toxic waste so most of them died before reaching where they were taken to.
Although those things happened to the blacks, there were people who are popularly known today for their brave spirit in helping the blacks. One of them was Rosa Parks. Another was Martin Luther King Jr, Rachel Anne Dolezal, Nelson Mandela, etc.
My Technical research:
The reason why I chose to do a poster was because a poster for me is an easy task. It is very interesting and can easily be engrossed with.

In conclusion, I will like to say that the poster will be done in no time.

HORROR MOVIE (BEYOND THE DARKNESS)
Basically, in the project I chose to do a film poster out of the other three options. I chose to do a film poster because it sounds more interesting to me and easier. I really like to edit pictures. It is something I do almost every time I take pictures with my phone.
Before this time, I did not understand the whole project till today. What I was thinking was not what it was. First of all, I thought the project was that it was a “must” to go to the museum for the primary research and take a picture of what inspired what you chose to talk and do in the project. I also thought the different researches where meant to be done on the proposal.
Today after Miss Emmanuella, one of the tutors for Film and TV in the college took time to explain the whole project, that was when I understood the whole thing that we were meant to do.
I also wanted to write on black slavery as is seen above but I later changed my mind and decided to do another thing. The Black Slavery did not work out because it was a complicated subject and felt people were not really based on that area. I downloaded a lot of pictures on google related to it but I just did not know how I was going to combine all the pictures I found. Then I saw a particular poster on it. This is the picture:
I tried all my best to imitate the picture, like download some pictures on the internet I saw looked like the ones used in the poster. Such as;
But after checking everywhere I could, I did not see. I tried combining these pictures with some others but it just did not work and so I just gave up doing a poster on Black Slavery, besides it also looked “Racist”.
I thought of doing something else and I knew then what I wanted to do. I then asked questions if I could do on products like an advertisement and someone said yes that I could do on anything I wanted to do. I looked on the internet and found this picture which looked very nice.
I chose it. Then I had an idea to write on femininity and the I chose another image to represent power.
I then combined these two pictures but it did not look nice at the end, so I changed and decided I had to do another film poster entirely.
I then decided that I will do a horror film poster. I love horror movies and I saw that majority of people that chose to do film posters did that. Before I decided to do a horror film poster, I had already downloaded a picture from the internet that I had decided to do, just incase I needed to use it later.
This was the picture and it was this picture that was one of the reasons that made me decide to later do a horror film poster. It has some symbolism in it that made me decide to do horror with it.
First of all, the colour combination in it. We see red and also black. Red id like light rays revealing one of the lady’s eyes and black is the main colour especially what she is wearing. Red connotes in most cases danger. Black is used to connote darkness and hidden truth. The colours are well seen in this picture.
Second, we see the expression on the lady’s face. She is neither smiling nor angry. She just has a strict face which tells something mysterious.
Then, we see only one eye which the red rays of light reveal which shows the eye of truth.
INSPIRATION
What inspired my ideas on doing this poster is from the other posters I have seen.
WHY I AM DOING WHAT I CHOSE
First of all I love horror movies. For the past few nights, I have been watching a lot of horror movies like “Sabrina”, etc. They are interesting but also creepy and scary. Also, I saw many people who were doing film posters mostly based on horror scenes.
There was no other option than to do it. So I decided to.
RESOURCES I NEED
The various basic resources I need to make this project a success are divided into the primary and secondary sector;
Primary;
A system (Desktop, Laptop, a well equipped phone)
Secondary;
Adobe photoshop application (or any other good software for a film poster)
SKILLS I NEED TO IMPROVE
From this experience I have entered into, there are a lot of skills I need to improve.
Basically, to tell the truth, I did not know how to use the Adobe Photoshop Application but due to this project, I now know how to use it a bit. I played around with the tools in the software at first.
Although I have known a bit, there are still some skills I need to improve on. Skills such as;
To know how to use ‘all’ the tools in the Photoshop application.
To know how to blend different pictures together in one.
To be able to balance things in a picture or poster appropriately.
Take note of the various layers.
etc.

GOOGLE FORM QUESTIONNAIRE
For my project, I asked six people questions on my poster through google form and these where the responses percentage represented on a diagram.
In this diagram, I asked as an introduction, what the gender of people asked are. These are the responses:
From these responses, we see that most of the people that were asked were females more than males.
This second diagram shows the percentage of people I asked that like horror movies
So in this diagram, its a question on what the people will like to see in a horror film and it was with options. The different options are seen as stated below:
From the diagram, we see most percentage of people prefer seeing the option, “Possession and Darkness” in horror movies, then ‘Murder’ and ‘Vage’ were under the option, ‘Other’. They were both equal in percentage. No one chose ‘Vampires and blood’ or ‘Zombies’.
This shows the percentage of people that are scared though not specified but people who are scared most by horror.
Percentage of people that have acted a drama or film before.
